They're great words for fiction. They establish characters without having to work too hard. I'm all for it! And yes to #12. Words to strike terror in our hearts. LOL.

I loathe the word "utilize" and try to excise it from anything I edit, whether written by me or someone else. Also: "impact" as a verb. Ugh!
