From one heathen to another - Merry Christmas, my dear friend, and here's hoping you'll be surrounded by well-deserved love the entire holiday season. ❤💚❤💚
Merriest of holidays from another heathen! I don't know if you know the John McCutcheon song, Christmas in the Trenches, which recounts to WW1 events that you referenced. Do try to track it down on YouTube. It makes me teary eyed every time I listen to it, and I've heard it many times.
I haven't yet decided what to do about staying or leaving here, re: the nazi problem. I blocked a whole bunch of people who responded in the pro-nazi vein after the Substack poohbahs gave their response. I don't want to lose the community I've found here, but, well, I left Xitter for the same reason.
I hope you have a wonderful and restful year's end.
I think the owners are going to be sorry. They’ve given the haters an open invitation and they’re calling in all of their friends. I’m just going to wait and see.
Thank you, Linda. Oh, I plan to spend almost all of 2024 reminding myself and others of why we must fight against the darkness--it threatens to extinguish the light we all cherish.
Those moments of happiness I choose to mention are only 'moments' because there are still too many who don't have that.
If their pain comes because others deliberately try to do them harm, and if I see that, I can't sit back and let it happen without a bit of howling. It's not two parts of me, it's the whole of me.
Hope you have a great weekend!!

Merry Christmas, Nancy! Yes, I’m with my family, that loving, wacky bunch! Take care and enjoy. 💕
Thank you. Merry Christmas.
And to you, David. ❤️
Merry Christmas!
Thank you!
Merry Christmas! Don’t leave because there are way more good people on Substack than looneys.
I know. That's what's going to keep me here. I'd be lonely without them!

Thanks so much, Anne. I’ll look for that song.

The best to you in the coming year. ❤️
Hang in there. I hope I don't feel the need to leave. I guess we'll see.
Glad you're here!
Thanks. You, too! 💕
That cabin!! I love it. From one heathen to another, the happiest of Christmas and holiday season to you, Ramona.
Merry Christmas, Ramona!
And I'm 100% with you on the 'Substackers Against Nazis' thing. I'm grateful for your hospitality here and so glad you plan to stay put.
Love the Christmas card you used to create and send. Keep up the spirit of light opposed to darkness!
