I read this story in thirds. The first third, I anti-identified with you because it sounds like our childhoods were... quite different. The second third, I hardcore identified with you because I knew nothing about infusing emotions into my writing, much less how to do so effectively, until I'd been writing for... like, all my life? And finally, I smiled at your pithy humor and the idea of a question that is not a question but you make us think it just might be. :)
Loved this, Mona. I read "Little Women" so much I managed to go through two copies. I guess I wanted to be Jo March. But I spent a lot more time reading than writing when I was a kid. I guess I was saving all that writing energy for when I turned 75. Thanks for sharing the great stories about your childhood.
Fun, Ramona! Enjoyed this read before diving into work this morning. Also, I rather like bubbles.
LOL. Yes, bubbles are good--and long as they never burst...

Glad to be of service, Nicci. Looks like you finally bit the bullet and joined Substack! I'm off now to subscribe. 😊
Ha! Thanks! Just be sure to subscribe to nicci’s notes unless the local politics and happenings of my small New England town interest you 😂
Is that a separate newsletter? It's okay to link here. And I do like reading about small town life!
Yeah! It's kadilakwrites.substack.com
Great! I've subscribed to that one, too. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for being here, Susan. It doesn't matter WHEN we start writing, just that we start. And never stop!
