Hello and welcome! I don’t know how you found your way to my writer’s parlor but I’m glad you did. You’ll find this is a friendly place, a safe place where writers can always feel free to feel. We might rage on or celebrate or just talk about our fears, but we do it as friends and not competitors. Writing is hard. We need all the allies we can get.
It’s what writers do in writer’s communities and that’s what this is. Even when I’m taking over and talking from the front seat, which I’m guessing will be fairly often, you can always chime in and tell us what you think. Always.
One thing you should know: I think talking about money is rude and crass. We’re not doing that here. We’re creatives who see writing as a form of communication that often turns into art—a kind of mysterious energy living within us that we haven’t quite figured out yet, but we’ve grown to love so much we can’t imagine doing anything else. And when we’re taking a break from doing it we often like to talk about it. Creatively.
By the way, feel free to share your links to a particular thread when it adds to the conversation. (I know you’ll never use it to spam.) Sharing is caring. (I read that somewhere.)
So that’s it then. I don’t know if anyone ever reads ‘About’ pages but here’s mine. It tells you who I am, who I’ve been, and what I’m trying to do here.
That’s all there is to it. Come on in! (Oh, and please subscribe. Definitely subscribe. Thanks.)
While you’re wandering around, please check out Constant Commoner, my other Substack newsletter. It’s for everything else—life, advocacy, politics, photography, humor—things like that.
