You’ve expressed exactly how I am feeling! I, too, find myself yelling at the TV. Especially when I see or hear his Assholiness. I was brought up to watch my language, but I use words that start with F, S, and MF a lot. Even so, I don’t think they are strong enough. I wake up in the middle of the night and I am wondering how I stay sane. It’s only been 24 days.

Your last point seems astonishing. It’s only been 24 days and look at the damage already done. It’s frightening that there are still people out there who aren’t concerned, let alone gearing up for battle.

It’s going to be uphill, which is why I’m trying to prepare for it. Who knows what’s coming next? None of us. The enemy is full of surprises, even worse than we could have imagined.

We thought there would be more opposition than there is. That's the scary part. And why we have to keep fighting.

Although my platform is a small niche, I'm using it as best I can to shine a light on this mess and also to remind us to take care of ourselves so we can continue to fight. I've lost subscribers both free and paid and gotten nasty message, but this is small potatoes compared to what we are standing up and fighting for.

I’m in Scotland but I want to help! I’m watching, as are many of my friends, in total disbelief even though we knew what was coming.

Please let me know how I can be of assistance.

Way to go, Ramona; you express my feelings so well - better than I can. So thank you. Ron's point regarding the damage already done is well taken. I just don't have words to express the depths of my heartache. Not only DT, but all his minions are in place to execute his dirty work, and the people in his party support it. I just don't get it.

You are making a difference, Ramona. Nothing is inevitable if we choose to resist.

Yes, we must choose to resist. Enough of us. But first we have to be convinced. That’s what I’m trying to do. That’s what so many of us are trying to do. It’s going to take an army of us, but the country has to know we’re here.

I hate trying to draw attention to myself, but I’m going to need to change that. I have a voice, but it’s useless if nobody hears me.

You're an inspiration, Ramona. And from what I read on social media, there's quite a Resistance Army developing. Thoughts are with you all, especially when my own government has laid down and let Trump walk all over them in respect of tariff threats.

I’m trying to keep my cool, but every day makes me more uncomfortable. Half the country is reveling in the accomplishments of their new leader and see nothing wrong with what he’s doing. I feel powerless personally, but I will also continue to write, at least in the form of poetry.

Your poem is great. Thanks for sharing! I'd just like to remind you to beef up your "About" page to let readers know who you are. If they're anything like me, it's the first place they look before deciding to subscribe. It's your intro!

Thanks. I’ve stayed low profile because I never know what kind of poetry I’m going to write, and I don’t wish for notoriety. If I feel strongly about something, including politics or religion, that may be where I go, although many of my poems are not on this subject. Poetry is relatively new to me, as is Substack, where the algorithm seems to isolate me to a few of my regular poets, plus many political posts. Not sure how to get much more readershipbut I appreciate the compliment and admire what you do, as well!

You won't get more readership by keeping a low profile. If you're going to publish, then be yourself. Make every piece a reflection of who you are, no matter where it might lead. Be proud of it. And if people don't like it and tell you so, they'll be in the minority. You'll find more readers who will appreciate your authenticity and will stick with you.

Promise!

Canadians have rallied together hugely and all of us are anxiety ridden at the daily threats to our sovereignty. I heard a news reporter quip last week that "the Polar Bear may have been sleeping till now but now that she's awake - she is *grumpy!*

It's impossible not to be rattled by all this and reading intelligent, like-minded comments here is a balm to the soul. And yes - we must take care of ourselves as a priority.
