Writers, We're a Community and Here's What We Love.
We love words. And sentences. And art.
Welcome to Writer Everlasting by me, Ramona Grigg. Writing all over the place , with stints at Crooks & Liars, Huffington Post, Liberaland, BroadStreet, Medium, Ramona’s Voices, and other sites for bloggers and essayists. Long time print columnist, essayist, and feature writer now blogging from the boonies, where the air is clear and the crowds are sparse but the words are still with me and seem to want to stay.
I’m building a community of writers here and I hope you’ll join me. It’s no fun talking to myself, and what’s more interesting than talking about the art and craft of writing?
Sign up now so you don’t miss a single issue. No fees, no pressure, no danger. Just us doing what we do—we write.
I’m the owner/editor of Indelible Ink at Medium, a publication for creative nonfiction. If you’re not sure what creative nonfiction it, click on the Submission tab and scroll down. It’s all there, in black and white. And we’re always open to submissions. The guidelines tell the tale.
Feel free to talk to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll get back to you as quick as I can.
Writer Everlasting is a sister newsletter to my original Substack newsletter, Constant Commoner . When I planned the original I thought I would just add a section about writing (called, funnily enough, ‘Strictly Writing’) to go along with the other sections on Politics and Life, but I realized almost right away that it needed an entire newsletter of its own if I was going to do what I wanted to do with the writing part. What I wanted to do was make it special, and it wasn’t special while it was in there having to compete with everything else.
I mean, honestly, what was I thinking? I like writing best of all. I like writing about writing, reading about it, talking about it, and teaching what I know. So I’ve moved it out of the writing section and changed the name and now it has a home of its own. Right here.
I only hope I get company. Lots of company.
So, writers, how about it? Want to come in? I’m in the midst of moving, so pardon the mess, but you’re welcome to help me decorate. We’ll make this our place and we’ll fill it with good talk and good writing and good times.
I’m ready whenever you are.
The door’s open.
No pressure, no gimmicks, no sales pitches. And right now it’s free.
All together now.
And don’t forget to tell your friends!
