Mazeltov! As for The Pitt, it is amazing. Having been hospitalized recently and seen my husband in hospital for ten days, it touches me deeply. I love the characters, especially the charge nurse.

They’re all so real, thanks to the actors. Great ensemble.

Yes, yes, yes. I feel connected with so many of them and the character development is very well done, though I wish we saw more of Shawn Hatosy. He has so much quiet charisma. The show moves me so much when even harsher characters can show compassion.

I have a feeling we'll see more of Dr. Abbot in Season 2. The scene with the artificial leg was powerful. All that standing during emergencies and then this...

Hi Ramona, thank you for sharing the good news that you've completed the latest round of chemo treatments. If there was ever a great time to be stuck at home, this is it. If your area of Michigan is anything like our weather here in Northern OH (frigid, snowy), nobody is venturing out unless they absolutely have to go somewhere. I didn't get into my car for 5 days last week after the last major snow storm and deep freeze here. We got more snow this morning and they're predicting -20 degree wind chills overnight.

I have The Pitt on my watchlist but am locked into a series on Netflix called "Heartland". It's a heartwarming story set on a horse ranch in Alberta, Canada. I love the scenery, the story line of a family who takes in strays (people and horses) and the fact that it's a Canadian series. There's no foul language, no explicit sex and very little violence (other than the occasional bad guys who pop up every once in awhile in an episode). When I first began watching several months ago, I was surprised to see that it had 17 seasons. Each season has at least 15 episodes. I'm only on Season 4 and this is my go to show to watch every night if I'm not watching a movie, so hopefully, it will take me through this next year of chaos in our country. Each episode lasts around 45 minutes (without commercials). It's calming and even when there's drama, the episode ends on an uplifting note. If you want something to watch at night to wind down that doesn't raise your blood pressure and leaves your heart feeling a little softer than when you started watching, I highly recommend "Heartland".

Thanks. I haven't paid much attention to "Heartland" but now it's going on my list! Sounds right up my alley. ❤️

It's definitely my kind of show-I escape to the foothills and mountains of Alberta every night. Makes me want to ride a horse, too.

What good news! The Pitt is the anti-Grey's Anatomy--those doctors are too tired and stretched to get it on the nap room, and they don't go home to make elegant meals in designer kitchens. You look great in the wig; here's to the return of your hair.

Ramona Grigg's avatar

Thanks. Yes, The Pitt is far more realistic and less 'actorly' than Grey's Anatomy. Which I watched for many seasons until I got tired of the sameness.

Fantastic news on finishing chemo! The uncertainty about what comes next is probbaly the hardest part psychologically. I went through something similar with a family member and that waiting period between treatmant and results felt endless. Staying cautious with the flu is smart given everything else going on.

Best wishes, and I love you in the wig.

So happy for you! Can’t wait to see you as soon as I can get back up north this spring or summer!

Me too. I should have hair by then! ❤️

Hi Ramona,

Yay to finishing chemo! That has to feel good. I hear you on all those questions that remain. I hope your energy remains stable when you stop the steroids. Recovering from chemo takes a while, so be patient with yourself. Wise to stay away from people during flu season as you recover. I more or less avoid people all the time!

I have never seen "Gilmore Girls". What's it about? I love "The Pitt". Excited to start season 2 soon. Husband and I are enjoying "Grey's Anatomy" now. Never watched before. Surprisingly perhaps, we're both really enjoying it. Did you mean "Shrinking"? Love that one too.

Such a nice photo of you wearing your wig. I know exactly what you mean when you say you'd rather have your own hair.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Do take care of yourself, my friend.
